Our story
Rooted in Sheffield.
Nestled on Main Street in the heart of the “Town of Murals”, The Epicurean Cafe is a place where time slows down. One of Sheffield's best-known works, Echo of the Mountains, sits on the wall alongside us. Inside it's historic timber, warm light, airy space and a long communal table that usually has flowers on it.
Almost everything is made here — the bread is baked on the premises and so are the cakes, the scones and the biscuits in the jars on the counter, which is why the cabinet looks a little different every day. Out front there's a providore shelf of Tasmanian preserves, relishes and pantry goods to take home.
Whether you're stopping by to admire the town's famous murals or settling in for a long lunch, you'll find a community that welcomes you. And if you want your eggs a particular way, say so — that's the part visitors write about most.
